Go! lost $3.7M in Q3
The parent company of Hawaii carrier go! said Monday the interisland airline lost $7.4 million in the third quarter.
The operating loss came on revenues of $15.6 million for go!, Phoenix-based Mesa Air Group said.
That compares to losses of $3.7 million on revenues of $6.2 million for go! in the same period in 2007.
Mesa’s overall losses from all operations was also $3.7 million in the third quarter, which ended June 30.
That’s compared to a $2.6 million profit in the same period in 2007.
Mesa blamed the losses on a 28 percent increase in fuel costs, up year over year from $116.6 million to $149.2 million, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mesa did not break out go!’s fuel costs separately get a free credit report.
Mesa’s earnings were posted after the end of trading, one day ahead of when it previously announced it would release the figures.
Shares of Mesa closed up 3.8 percent to 54 cents.
The company is holding a conference call on Tuesday to discuss the earnings report.
