The complaint against Crocs (NASDAQ: CROX), based in Niwot, was filed this week by Jeffrey Hochberg in U.S. District Court in New York, according to media reports.
Hochberg asserts that his daughter was injured on Nov. 14, 2007, after her right shoe was caught in an escalator at LaGuardia Airport in New York payday advances.
"The skin was peeled off her toe," lawyer Andrew Laskin told the New York Daily News. "It's a pretty horrifying injury."
This is not the first escalator-related injury blamed on Crocs shoes. Other allegations have been made involving children in Singapore, Georgia and Virginia.
Crocs officials have maintained that the shoes are safe.
