Young Brothers to up fuel surcharge again
Hawaii interisland shipping company Young Brothers announced it will increase its fuel price adjustment 2.5 to 3 percent.
The new pricing, effective March 4, is a result of increased fuel costs of nearly 22 percent in six months, the company said.
"Since August of last year, fuel costs have risen 21.89 percent," said Glenn Hong, president of Young Brothers.
After costs and revenues are received for the period ending Feb payday loans. 29, the company will determine the actual fuel price adjustment percentage, Hong said.
The company said planned investments over the next 10 years include replacing a majority of the company’s tug and barge fleet, buying new containers and cargo-handling equipment and improving facilities.
